Be Careful Buying a Bat for Fall Ball!

As everyone except for AA has been assigned to teams (we are still seeking one AA manager!!), you may now be considering what equipment to buy.  Please, if you are considering purchasing a bat for your players, please note the following: The bat standards will be changing as of 1/1/18.  Bats you have been using up until now will likely not be permitted for use after 1/1/2018.  This is not a CSLL rule.  It is a bat standard (USA Standard) that is being adopted by Little League, and other baseball leagues

Juniors All-Stars Edge Out Woodlawn 5-4 To Advance

On Saturday, July 8, 2017, the Central Springfield Juniors All Star Team defeated the Woodlawn Team 5-4 at WBLL’s Veterans No. 3.  Central won the coin toss which was officiated by former Central Manager, Ken Rozelsky, now a D9 Official.  The 1:00 PM game was scoreless after one.  Chris Popovics #7, batting clean-up, reached first courtesy of a high throw by Woodlawn’s shortstop.  Will Partain #9, later singled to score Chris from second, with the score at the end of two innings 1-0 in favor of Central.  A

Fall Ball Registration Still Open for Select Divisions

Registration for fall ball is open for the Intermediates, Majors, AA, A-ball and T-Ball!  The registration fee for the fall is $100 with no sibling discount.  Play will begin the weekend of August 26th and will wrap up at the end of October.  Initially there will be games on weekdays and weekends, but by the end of September games will be limited to weekends except for teams in Majors and possibly AAA.

Central 10/11 Team Finishes Pool Play as #1 Seed

CSLL advanced to the championship round of the District 9 9-11 All Star tournament with a 12-3 win over DTQ Little League.  Alex Grehawick and Andrew Pohlmeier guided Central to victory from the mound despite concerted efforts to distract the pitchers by the DTQ bench.  The offensive star of the night was Dawson Weems, who went 3 for 4 with 5 RBIs.  His lone out was a shot hit straight at the fielder in deep center.  Twice, he lined the ball past the right fielder resulting in a double and a triple plus 3 R
