The 10-12 Goblins won their first elimination game in the fun tournament against DTQ. Prior to the game, the Goblins dedicated their tournament to the McGavin family, and between every half inning now cheer the family name as a team.
The Goblins took a 3-0 lead in the first and never relinquished control. Led by Henry Steene starting on the mound, the Goblins' defense was tight, allowing only two runs over the six inning game.
Alex Gauzer pitched in relief, allowing no runs over 2.1 innings pitched. Adam Dennison closed for the Goblins in his final game of the season, retiring the final two batters.
The Goblins' bats were extremely active. Almost everyone recorded hits. Nate Lorenger headlined the show with a legitimate in-the-park home run. Tyson Denny had a little league home run to compliment. Leo Burns and Noah Mariano both had breakout smashes, while both Bennet Strong and Justice Lambert both recorded triples on multiple hits. Bobby Yarbrough and Ryan Perrella also recorded multiple hits.
On defense, Tyson Denny had a running catch at second, and Nate Lorenger had an ESPN-worthy stretch on first base to record a put-out in the sixth.
